DOCTOR’S ORDERS AKA SERVICES OFFERED
If you’re like, wait, what is that again? Don’t worry, it’s not a dumb question.
In a nutshell, it’s all about addressing the root causes of illness and then using natural therapies to promote health and healing. You’ve probably heard the terms “alternative health” thrown around a lot in reference to conventional healthcare models. As naturopathic physicians, we marry (or integrate) standard medical diagnostic with a broad range of natural therapies. You could say it’s the best of both worlds. Most people just say, “Oh my God, I feel so much better.”
If meditation training and physiologic data had a baby, and that baby helped you heal your stress, anxiety or pain ... yeah, Biofeedback would be that.
Using sensors and real time computer analysis, Biofeedback shows patients their heart rate, muscle tension, respiration rate, temperature and sweat production to help them learn to mindfully control their body’s reaction to stressors. This one on one service is led by Dr. Pabst who has over 15 years of experience in Biofeedback Therapy and holds a Doctor of Psychology. This mindfullness training is excellent for people who have high-performance occupations, such as lawyers, doctors, athletes and performers but is also beneficial for children. Peace out, anxiety, pain and stress.

Sugar can be emotionally and physically addictive and resisting the urges can be nearly impossible. What’s worse is that sugar-free stretches can easily get derailed and you are right back where you were before your last sugar-free challenge. The guilt and failure that you feel leads you right back where you started-- more sugar. We’ve been there and we know how hard it can be to break the cycle. Sugar consumption has been called the greatest public health crisis of our time. It is an epidemic. It is possible to restore balance in your body, heal and get off the sugar roller coaster. The Sugar Detox is facilitated by our Certified Holistic Health Coach, Stacy Levy, who will guide you through a specific and accessible 10-day program to minimize sugar cravings, reduce inflammation caused by sugar, and get you back on track to feeling like your best self.
It’s no secret that our world (and much of our food supply) is loaded with toxins. Our bodies do a pretty good job of getting rid of the junk we are exposed to on a daily basis. But, what happens when junk is the rule, rather than exception?
You may feel lethargic, irritable, bloated or just off. That is precisely when you could use a reset. A little reboot. Enter ‘Deep Clean’ - our 10-day comprehensive and results-oriented program that supports the body’s metabolic and heavy metal detoxification processes. No juice fasts, liquid diets or fads. You’ll eat real, whole foods and supplement with FDA-approved and research backed medical food. You’ll be more alkaline in no time.
You eat what you consider a healthy diet. (Or maybe you don’t and you need help here too.) What you’re dying to know is this: why don't I feel better?
Many of us unknowingly eat foods that produce inflammation in our bodies. We may even assume these foods are good for us, but the inflammation they cause can lead to all sorts of issues such as irregular moods, chronic pain, and even weight gain. Is there a way to find out what you should and should not eat? We've developed a streamlined process to figure it out. Through a simple finger prick test and a food elimination program, we can determine your unique food sensitivities and build a nutritional plan that works for your tastes and lifestyle.
You've tried paleo, keto and maybe even a Whole30 month or two. One book says eat this, another blog says eat that. It all boils down to this: you’re confused.
On top of confusion and curiosity, you have some chronic health issues that you think might be related to food or lifestyle choices. Our Wellness Coach, Stacy, is here to break it down for you. Stacy is passionate about helping people eat real food in real life. Meaning - forget the fads and deprivation. With an assessment of your nutrition and lifestyle, she will lead you through the steps necessary to make your health and wellness goals a reality. Think of wellness coaching as a way to get your nutrition and mindset around food and lifestyle choices back into cruise control.
It’s getting hot—and healthy—in here.
Sauna Therapy involves an infrared sauna to improve and heal a variety of issues. It's known to:
- Increase the healing process and improve the immune system
- Address chronic skin problems like eczema, hormonal acne and psoriasis
- Help with musculoskeletal pain
- Speed up the breakdown of fat cells and liberate toxins (up to 600 calories can be burned in a 30 minute treatment)
- Improve brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in patients with neurological disorders
Basically, this sauna can improve almost anything short of fixing your marriage. With environmentally-sensitive and chemically-sensitive patients in mind, we chose the best sauna on the market in terms of non-toxic standards. Think: no toxic glues, varnishes or paints made of low-reactive wood (poplar wood) and a very low EMF. Also think: the healthiest sauna experience in Chicago.
You’ll notice that no blanket statements (“Just be vegan!”) were prescribed in the making of our services. That’s one of those alternative health stereotypes we’re trying to shake. Our jam? Solutions rooted in biochemical and genetic individuality. Because there’s (so much) more to you than your symptoms and one solution rarely fits all.
